Loopy Fangirl Sees Signs

Hiya, All. I’m new to this community, but something happened recently, and I’ve been dying to tell someone…I think I found the right place to share the story. I can't tell short stories, so I'll just put the whole thing behind a cut..

First off, I should say that I took a trip recently to visit my mother as a surprise for her birthday. I live about as far south in Louisiana as you can get, and she’s moved to the very tip top of Arkansas. So, I started on my surprise (12 hour) journey early one morning. I drove and drove and was down-right loopy for most of the journey (not an early riser). After exiting Texarkana, Arkansas...somewhere on the other side of Hope, I spied this sign...

Emmet Arkansas

I know! I know….it is missing a ‘T’ on the end…but I’d just like to say, that I’d been driving for about 7+ hours, and I used anything I could to keep myself from slipping into a coma and wrapping my car around a tree somewhere. This immediately woke me up and sent me into a giggle-fit of epic proportions. I don’t know if I was actually more awake now and thus reading the signs more clearly …but things only got funnier as the trip continued…

After reaching my mother’s house and receiving a wonderful reception, I was allowed to rest but not before being let in on plans for the next few days. See, this was about the time that everyone in my home-town began bracing and evacuating for hurricane Gustav...so not only were we celebrating my mother’s birthday, but trying desperately to distract me from the emanate destruction of my childhood home.

A few days later, Mom decided to show me around the town. After walking around this wonderful little park, I noticed this sign just across the bridge…

Jasper Arkansas

My mother watched me warily as I giddily told her the sign said we should go “that-a-way” to find Jasper. She has no idea the Twilight Saga even exists, but she is more than used to my behavior…And then later on that day…we went to the local grocery store.

Edward's Grocery Store in Arkansas

….family owned and operated, no less ^..^ All of this made for a wonderful (and wacky) bonus to my surprise visit to my mother’s house (and evacuation of Gustav =..=). Now that I’m back home, and everything’s all safe and set up right, I just had to share these pictures (though…to anyone else, they only prove my insanity XD).

I love it! You've come to the right place. :) The Cullen boys all in one trip! That is quite awesome. Thanks for sharing your adventures and I'm glad that you are home safe and sound. :)

I am SO glad I found some understanding. My mom kept getting weirded out by the crazy picture taking…and she gave me these looks... as if she were going to have to get me to see a therapist or something....

The only way it would've been better is if the girls would've be able to represent. I asked my Mom...but the only name she recognized, was Alice St. in Harrison (where she lives)....but she refused to take me all that way across town to take pictures of a sign =..= No love for fangirls.
